LinkedIn Fights Back Against Fake Accounts - Here's How!

You have all heard of LinkedIn, and probably even have a LinkedIn profile. It's a great social platform for professionals to connect, find jobs, and expand their business networks. However, as with any popular platform, there's always the chance of running into some pesky fake profiles.

You know the type - those pesky bots that are popping up all over the place. They're spamming people left and right, tricking honest profiles into downloading malware, and scamming people out of their personal data. Ugh!

LinkedIn holds a lot of information on each of its members, including their job history, contact details, professional interests, and places of work – all valuable data that a determined criminal could use.

But don't worry because LinkedIn is taking action! They're introducing new verification features to tackle these fake accounts over the coming months. Microsoft owns LinkedIn and is partnering with Clear to verify accounts using work email addresses, government-issued IDs, and phone numbers. Pretty cool, right?

The best part? Unlike Twitter, LinkedIn will be offering this verification free of charge. So, if you see a little verification mark on someone's profile, you can trust that they are who they say they are.

This new verification process is initially only being tested in the US, but if it's successful, we'll likely see it rolled out globally soon.
